Video Doorbells · spec comparison
Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G46.2Notifications are quick and HomeKit support is real, but a 1080p 16:9 sensor means you see the visitor's chest and miss the parcel.1080p (1920×1080)16:9162 °DiagonalBattery or wiredYes
Aqara Video Doorbell G4108.5The mmWave radar cuts false alerts sharply and it doubles as a Matter and Thread hub, but IPX3 weatherproofing is thin for an outdoor device.2K (2048×1536)4:3175 °DiagonalBattery or wiredYes
Arlo Video Doorbell 2K (2nd Gen)5.8Package detection is excellent and the view is huge, but reviewers found the image soft and distorted, the app flaky, and the plan starts at eight dollars.2K (1944×1944)1:1Best in column180 °DiagonalBattery or wiredNo
eufy Video Doorbell E340 (Dual Camera)8.9The second downward camera actually solves the package problem, and it records locally with no fee, though eufy's 2022 cloud-upload scandal still hangs over the brand.2K (2048×1536) + 1080p cam4:3160 °Wide-angle (unspecified)Battery or wiredYes
eufy Video Doorbell S2207.5Still the cheap way into subscription-free 2K with long battery life, but it is an aging model and owners report noticeable lag on notifications.2K (2052×1540)4:3160 °Wide-angle (unspecified)Battery or wiredYes
Google Nest Doorbell (battery)5.2Google's AI detection is still smart, but 960p hardware at this price in 2026 is hard to defend, and Nest Aware is effectively mandatory.HD (960×1280)3:4145 °DiagonalBattery or wiredNo
Google Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen)7.9Detection accuracy is the best here and reviewers say it barely misses events, but nothing records locally and the useful AI sits behind Google's monthly plan.2K (2048×2048)1:1166 °DiagonalWiredNo
Lorex 2K Wired Video Doorbell7.7Crisp HDR with color night vision, a microSD slot and no mandatory fee, held back by weak smart home integration and wired-only installation.2K (2560×1920)4:3164 °DiagonalWiredYes
Ring Battery Doorbell (2nd Gen)6.1The cheapest way into Ring's ecosystem and alerts are dependable, but it is battery-only, the narrowest view here, and paywalled like the rest.2K (1920×1920)1:1140 °Horizontal/verticalBatteryNo
Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen)6.8A genuine step up in low light and alert quality over the base model, but you are renting the storage forever and it runs on a battery.2K (1920×1920)1:1140 °Horizontal/verticalBatteryNo
Ring Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen)7.4Ring's best battery doorbell, with real 4K and radar detection that rarely cries wolf, but every recording is locked behind a Ring Home plan.4K (2880×2880)1:1140 °Horizontal/verticalBatteryNo
Ring Wired Doorbell (2nd Gen)6.4Solid 2K on existing wiring with Ring's reliable alerts, but it is the plain model in the range and still useless without a paid plan.2K (1920×1920)1:1140 °Horizontal/verticalWiredNo
Ring Wired Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen)8.0The sharpest picture and the most accurate radar motion detection in this group, dragged down by a plan you must keep paying to save any of it.4K (2880×2880)1:1140 °Horizontal/verticalWiredNo
SimpliSafe Video Doorbell Pro3.9Pre-press alerts are clever, but it is 1080p on a wide TV-shaped frame, wired only, and recordings need a SimpliSafe monitoring plan starting near ten dollars monthly.1080p (1920×1080)16:9162 °Wide-angle (unspecified)WiredNo
TP-Link Tapo D235 Video Doorbell9.3AI person, package and vehicle alerts are free, storage is local, and it costs half what the subscription brands charge. Reviewers keep calling it the class leader.2K/5MP (2560×1920)4:3Best in column180 °DiagonalBattery or wiredYes
Wyze Battery Video Doorbell7.3About sixty-five dollars for a head-to-toe sensor, fast alerts and a microSD slot. Person and package recognition still needs Cam Plus, and Wyze leaked feeds in 2024.1536×15361:1150 °Horizontal/verticalBattery or wiredYes
Wyze Video Doorbell Pro4.4No card slot at all, so Cam Plus is not optional. Wyze's own cheaper battery model does everything this does and records locally.1440×14401:1150 °Horizontal/verticalBattery or wiredNo
How the AI score works, and who wrote it

A language model rated these, not a test lab. Every score from1 to 10 is an AI assessment of how good the product is against the other 19 in this comparison, formed from the specifications we verified plus the published lab reviews and owner reception found while researching each one. Nobody at Slopsheets listened to, wore or plugged in any of it.

It weighs the things a spec table cannot show: how a product is actually reviewed, how well the software works, build quality, and what you get for the money. That is deliberate. An earlier version of this column was pure arithmetic on the table and it ranked a bundle of cheap boxes above a class-leading single unit, because counting hardware is not the same as judging it.

Treat it as an informed starting point and read the sourced comparison, not as a verdict. The score is relative to this comparison only, so it means nothing across categories, and it carries no price, star rating or review count. Every specification behind it is sourced and checked; the score on top of them is opinion.
