Smart Scales

every smart scale we track, one row each, counted the same way: metrics are distinct measurement types with a per-limb breakdown counted once, and heart rate only counts when the scale itself takes it. sort by metrics or capacity, or filter to wi-fi and hand-to-foot if you won't compromise on either. a blank cell means we couldn't verify the spec, not that it's missing.

How the AI score works, and who wrote it

A language model rated these, not a test lab. Every score from 1 to 10 is an AI assessment of how good the product is against the other 18 in this comparison, formed from the specifications we verified plus the published lab reviews and owner reception found while researching each one. Nobody at Slopsheets listened to, wore or plugged in any of it.

It weighs the things a spec table cannot show: how a product is actually reviewed, how well the software works, build quality, and what you get for the money. That is deliberate. An earlier version of this column was pure arithmetic on the table and it ranked a bundle of cheap boxes above a class-leading single unit, because counting hardware is not the same as judging it.

Treat it as an informed starting point and read the sourced comparison, not as a verdict. The score is relative to this comparison only, so it means nothing across categories, and it carries no price, star rating or review count. Every specification behind it is sourced and checked; the score on top of them is opinion.

Frequently asked questions

What actually matters most when choosing a smart scale?

Two columns: Wi-Fi sync and hand-to-foot segmental analysis. Wi-Fi decides whether weigh-ins log without your phone, and the handle decides whether body composition is measured per limb or estimated from your feet alone. Capacity, heart rate and battery type are refinements once those two are settled.

Which spec on this sheet is the most marketing-driven?

The body metrics count. Some brands advertise 44 or 50+ metrics by counting each limb's fat and muscle separately, and some count heart rate taken by your phone. We count distinct measurement types with a per-limb breakdown counted once, so a 16 here is directly comparable with a 12.

Why do the Wyze scales show no heart rate when Wyze advertises it?

Wyze's app measures heart rate by having you cover your phone's camera with a fingertip, so the scale itself never takes the reading. This sheet only marks heart rate when the scale measures it through the plate.

Should I filter for a rechargeable battery?

Only as a tiebreaker. Four scales here never need disposable cells, and most battery models run for many months on a set of AAAs. Filtering the rest out would drop several strong scales, including the Withings Body Smart.

Why are a couple of cells blank?

We leave a cell empty when we couldn't verify the figure rather than guess. The Renpho MorphoScan Base is sold as 50+ metrics with no itemized list, and the Renpho Elis Aspire has no US capacity figure we could confirm.
